In this series, I present urban and rural landscapes printed on very thin foil of emergency blanket with a special UV technique produce by Metro Imaging studio in London.
All the images I present in this series are all natural landscapes, despite the fact that some of them are man-made.
Humans are part of the Natural system so everything produced by them should be considered natural. Is your house, your shelter, less natural than a bird’s nest or a termite mound?
For the urban landscapes, I chose Hong Kong as a representative of the vertical modern urban forest. For the rural landscapes, I took photos at the Sila National Park in the South of Italy.
Each artwork weighs only 3 grams.
In this series Lo Schiavo is working again with the emergency blanket used for the series Wind Sculptures, a special material developed by NASA in the ’60 for the space program that is at the same time robust and fragile as the landscapes presented.
